In partnership with Taylor ISD, STEP adds electrical and HVAC programs to their well-established plumbing and welding programs. STEP is an enhanced vocational training program for electricians, welders, pipefitters and HVAC professionals. Programs prepare students for NCCER Level 1 and Level 2 credentials. The labs are designed to start at Taylor High School and scale into a regional training center, and eventually a community extension center serving adult learners. STEP will complement the district’s existing emphasis on career and technical education (CTE) programs, which Samsung Austin Semiconductor also invests in.
