Samsung Austin Semiconductor is committed to inspiring middle and high school students to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).

  • Program gives students access to education, training, and awareness of career paths in the semiconductor and manufacturing industry.

Fab Intern/Apprentice Program

Technician Career Track
Fab Intern
  • Paid, 10-week summer internship
  • Complete project as part of program
  • 18+ years old and up
  • High school graduate
  • Selected students will have opportunity to join Fab Apprentice program

Fab Intern 2024 Application Deadlines

  • Applications are closed for 2024.
  • Applications for 2025 will be posted at a later date.
Fab Apprentice
  • Open to students who successfully completed Fab Intern program
  • Participate in program while completing Associate’s Degree at Austin Community College (ACC)
  • Work two days per week at Samsung Austin Semiconductor
  • Maintain GPA of 3.0 or higher, company will pay tuition and books at 100%
  • Once student graduates from ACC, they are eligible to apply for a full-time technician position with Samsung Austin Semiconductor
  • Qualifying degree plans:
    • Manufacturing: Automation and Robotics Technology Specialization
    • Manufacturing Technology: Advanced Manufacturing Specialization
    • Engineering Technology: Engineering Technology Specialization
    • Engineering Technology: Electronics Technician Specialization
    • Information Technology: User and Computer Support Specialization

College Summer Internship

Engineering Career Track

Our competitive program offers college students an engaging, fast-paced paid internship where you’ll be assigned a project in one of a variety of departments like analytics, automation, diffusion, etch, metals, photolithography and more!

  • 11-week summer program
  • Engineering career track
  • Sophomores, juniors, grad students
  • Real-world experience, projects
  • Team-building activities with peers
  • 3.0 Cumulative GPA minimum
  • Students must be enrolled in a bachelor’s program, majoring in: Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, Computer Science, Materials Science, Physics or Chemistry

College Orientation Recruitment Program (CORP) Engineer

Engineering Career Track

This role allows new graduates to start a career in the semiconductor manufacturing industry with a comprehensive orientation and technical training program.

  • Rotate through engineering departments
  • Robust technical training
  • Semiconductor manufacturing principles
  • 3.0 Cumulative GPA minimum
