□ Sharing Greenhouse Gas Reduction Achievements and Strengthening Cooperation

Samsung Electronics Semiconductor is actively pursuing greenhouse gas reduction efforts across Scope 1, 2, and 3 to achieve its 2050 carbon neutrality target. At the forum, it shared practical achievements by introducing various examples such as process gas treatment technology (RCS), energy transition (PPA agreement), and cooperation with the supply chain (standardization of supplier survey forms). In addition, it mentioned domestic eco-friendly energy projects, explained the importance of reducing carbon emissions, and encouraged active participation from the semiconductor industry.

□ Active Participation in Scope 3 Emissions Management

As the importance of Scope 3 emissions management is highlighted, Samsung Electronics Semiconductor is actively developing related activities. It contributed to the publication of the 'Scope3 category 1 GHG assessment – Semiconductor Guidelines' by participating in the SCC (Semiconductor Climate Consortium) Working Group. It also plans to actively participate in discovering greenhouse gas reduction measures through industry collaboration by gradually expanding the data calculation scope of its partners and improving the accuracy of emissions from both the company and its partners. Furthermore, it is participating in the Scope 3 emissions calculation consultative body led by the Ministry of Environment/KEITI to share its expertise and actively express opinions on supplementary measures to the GHG Protocol that are suitable for the domestic situation.

□ Building a Sustainable Semiconductor Ecosystem Through Cooperation

Samsung Electronics Semiconductor is taking the lead in building a sustainable semiconductor ecosystem by operating various programs to promote ESG management and investment support for its partners. Since October 2024, it has been supporting the sustainable growth of its partners by creating an ESG fund for reducing energy use and strengthening environmental safety. In addition, it has been transferring the mass production of G3 gas to replace CF4 since 2024, and is contributing to reducing carbon emissions from process gases of its partners by opening up the developed alternative gas to its partners. In addition, it is continuing its efforts to build a sustainable ecosystem by signing partnerships with material/equipment companies to promote the development of new alternative gases. Furthermore, it is strengthening cooperation with the industry by inviting partners to share its vision for sustainable management and providing a venue to strengthen cooperation.
