With a hexa-core CPU, consists of two Cortex-A73 cores for high performance and four Cortex-A53 cores for better power efficiency, the Exynos 7872 processor delivers top notch performance of premium smartphones closer to mid-range devices. The single core performance is increased by two folds when compared to its predecessor, resulting in seamless multitasking, faster web browsing and app launching.

Modem and Connectivity

Perfect Mobile Connection
The Exynos 7872 processor features an LTE modem that supports Category 7 with 2CA(Carrier Aggregation) for 300Mbps downlink speed and Category 13 with 2CA for 150Mbps uplink speed for faster yet reliable mobile communication. The modem also supports almost every network of 2G, 3G and 4G such as CDMA, GSM, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA, LTE-FDD and LTE-TDD modes. For global location positioning coverage, the processor embeds a GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite System) receiver. Along with diverse connectivity technologies such as Wi-Fi and FM radio, the Exynos 7872 processor also integrates Bluetooth 4.2.

ISP, MFC and GPU

Multimedia, Now More Entertaining
For enjoyable video and photography experiences, the Exynos 7872 features an improved ISP (Image Signal Processor) and MFC (Multi-Format Codec). In addition to its support for 21.7MP for each of rear and front camera, the ISP also enables smartphone to feature an iris camera sensor up to 8MP for enhanced authentication. Furthermore, the ISP embeds a hardware block for Smart WDR(Wide Dynamic Range) that generates a WDR image with just a single shot. The MFC supports full HD video encoding and decoding at 120fps with HEVC (H.265) and H.264 codec. With the Mali-G71 GPU providing enhanced performance with better power efficiency, the Exynos 7872 processor enables user to enjoy mobile games with long lasting battery life.
