Transistor

Transistor A component of electronic circuits created by joining three layers of silicon or germanium semiconductors. This semiconductor element acts as the amplifier or takes on the role of switching. William Shockley, John Bardeen, and Walter Brattain first invented this at Nokia Bell Labs in 1948. Transistors can largely be categorized into Bipolar Junction Transistors (BJTs) and Field Effect Transistors (FETs). A transistor is normally composed of a base, a collector, and an emitter. When voltage or electricity is applied between the base and the collector, the electrical conductivity between the collector and the emitter goes up, which allows for control over the electrical flow. ※ Bipolar Junction Transistors (BJTs)
