CMOS Image Sensor

CMOS Image Sensor (CIS) A low-power imaging device with a complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) structure. An image sensor is a device that converts the appearance of a subject into an electrical image signal. An image sensor converts light energy into electrical energy to create images, and serves a function similar to the film in a camera. Depending on the application and the manufacturing process, image sensors can be categorized into CCD image sensors and CMOS image sensors. A CMOS image sensor converts and transmits signals in voltage, and is made using conventional semiconductor processes. This makes CMOS image sensors price competitive. Also, the image sensor and surrounding circuits can be integrated into one chip, allowing smaller chip size and easier management. CMOS image sensors are highly integrated with low power consumption, making them a preferred choice for smart devices where battery life is crucial.
