AUSTIN, Texas—July 28, 2025—Samsung Austin Semiconductor is donating $1 million to support flood relief efforts across Central Texas, the Hill Country and other areas of Texas impacted by the July floods.

Samsung has selected Rebuild Texas Fund, a state-appointed fund under the OneStar Foundation, to help provide immediate relief as well as long-term recovery operations in the areas that need it the most. Rebuild Texas Fund works with local leaders, community funders and recovery organizations to identify community-driven priorities, unmet needs and funding gaps in impacted communities. Samsung will work with Rebuild Texas Fund to distribute its $900,000 donation to where it is needed most.

In addition, Samsung is targeting up to $100,000 for its employee giving program which includes corporate matching to three community funds:

“Our hearts are with the communities and families who have been impacted by the catastrophic flooding in Texas,” said Bonyoung Koo, president, Samsung Austin Semiconductor. “As a proud Texas-based company for nearly 30 years, we are deeply committed to supporting our neighbors and helping them recover from these devastating floods.”

Throughout the month of July, flooding has caused unprecedented damage across 21 Texas counties and has claimed numerous lives.

“Samsung and Texas have a strong partnership that goes beyond business,” OneStar Foundation president and CEO Chris Bugbee said. “Samsung is dedicated to Texans and they’re deeply rooted in our state. With this donation they will help provide much-needed assistance to those who need it most.”

In addition to contributing financially, Samsung employees have also volunteered at flood recovery sites, demonstrating the company’s #WeChipIn initiative.
