Samsung Electronics opens the largest-ever booth at the G-STAR 2022

Samsung Electronics, the world leader in advanced memory technology, joins G-STAR 2022, the largest gaming fair in South Korea, at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO) on November 17, 2022. With the G-STAR 2022 taking place offline for the first time in three years, Samsung Electronics has installed the largest-ever booth -- measuring 357m2 -- to showcase its products and offer a variety of content to directly engage with gamers.

□ Showcase high-performance SSDs for the best gaming environment Samsung Electronics presents gaming-optimized high-performance solid-state drives (SSDs), including 990 PRO, 990 PRO with Heatsink and T7 Shield. 990 PRO and 990 PRO with Heatsink are high-performance SSDs optimized for graphically demanding tasks such as gaming and bring faster load times to PCs and consoles for a more immersive high-definition gaming experience. Portable SSD T7 Shield delivers superb durability and is capable of reliably processing heavy-duty tasks, including high-definition video recording and editing without compromising performance. The exhibition booth features three experience zones, which are Game Play Zone, Entertainment Zone, and Class & Event Zone, to allow gamers to experience Samsung SSDs at firsthand via SSD installation and gameplay. Notably, visitors to Game Play Zone can experience some of the most-anticipated games on 990 PRO and 990 PRO with Heatsink, including Sonic Frontiers released by SEGA on November 8, 2022, and Forspoken to be launched by Square Enix in early 2023. “With an increasing number of high-definition, high-spec, and graphically demanding games, the importance of gaming-specific storage solutions is ever-growing” said KyuYoung Lee, Vice President of the Memory Brand Product Biz Team at Samsung Electronics. “Samsung Electronics provides interactive content, enabling visitors of G-STAR 2022 to get hands-on experience on the lineup of latest SSD products such as 990 PRO and T7 Shield, which help create optimal gaming environments.”

□ Play the latest on-demand games with Galaxy smartphones Samsung Electronics has established a separate Galaxy Store booth, where visitors can play the latest on-demand games with Galaxy Z Fold4∙Flip4 smartphones and have chances to win a wide array of giveaways. The booth presents plenty to see with exhibition of Galaxy Z Fold4∙Flip4∙Buds2 Pro special editions in collaboration with globally popular games such as Cookie Run, Genshin Impact, and Civilization. To provide a wide range of benefits to all visitors, the booth offers giveaways, such as discount coupons and gift cards for a game purchase, along with a gaming event, where participants can win Galaxy Z Fold4∙Flip4∙Buds2 Pro.

□ ‘Odyssey OLED G8’: OLED panel partnered with Quantum Dot Technology unveiled for the first time Samsung Electronics has unveiled ‘Odyssey OLED G8’, an OLED gaming monitor paired with Quantum Dot Technology. The ultra-wide, QHD resolution (3,440 x 1,440) 34-inch premium gaming monitor has a 21:9 aspect ratio with 1800R OLED panel curvature. The monitor features an outstanding 175Hz refresh rate and a response time of just 0.1ms. Samsung Electronics also showcases ‘Odyssey Neo G8’, the world’s first 240Hz, 4K gaming monitor that became available in June this year. During the fair, Samsung Electronics exhibits approximately 350 gaming monitors, including Odyssey Ark and Odyssey Neo G7, at booths prepared by various partner game companies such as Neowiz, Nexon, Inven, and Krafton, to expand opportunities for gamers to have firsthand experiences of the monitors. In the meantime, the company will also demonstrate technology pertinent to HDR10+ in collaboration with Neowiz that joined the HDR10+ Alliance as a member for the first time in the Korean gaming industry.
