SRAM (Static Random Access Memory) RAM that preserves the saved data as long as the power is on. RAM is memory that records, reads, and edits data. There is SRAM, which preserves data as long as the power is on, and DRAM, on which data expires over time. SRAM is volatile memory where the saved data expires once the power is off. However, as the data is maintained as long as the power is on, it does not need to be refreshed like DRAM does. In SRAM, many transistors make up one cell, meaning there are more pathways to move data around. This allows for a faster data processing speed than DRAM. However, the cells that save data are big, so they are less integrated for the given surface area. The circuit structure is very complex as well, which is why it is difficult to make SRAM into large-capacity storage. For these reasons, they are mostly used for small-storage memory like in a graphics card.
