Samsung Austin Semiconductor recipient of 2021 SEAL Business Sustainability Award

Each year the SEAL Business Sustainability Awards recognize companies that demonstrate sustainability, environmental achievement and leadership – hence the name SEAL. In December, Samsung Austin Semiconductor was awarded a SEAL Environmental Initiative Award. Judged by a panel of 10 sustainability and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) experts, this award honors Samsung Austin Semiconductor's specific environmental and sustainability initiatives. "Samsung Austin Semiconductor is honored to receive a SEAL Business Sustainability Award recognizing our commitment to sustainable business practices," said Dr. Sang Sup Jeong, President of Samsung Austin Semiconductor. "Our mission at SEAL is to rigorously assess and then celebrate extraordinary sustainability leadership. We're honored to present these 2021 Sustainability Award winners," commented Matt Harney, SEAL Awards' Founder. This award is one of several recent environmental impact recognitions received by Samsung Austin Semiconductor. The company also received both the Evoqua Water Technologies Water Sustainability Award and the 2022 Governor's Texas Environmental Excellence Award earlier this year. With environmental responsibility as one of Samsung Austin Semiconductor's five business principles, these awards are a reflection of the company's hard work and commitment. "We consider it our critical responsibility to develop and lead best-in-class environmental, health and safety initiatives that engage and activate our workforce, protect the environment and enhance our everyday operations," added Jeong. "Our efforts in pollution prevention include excellence in wastewater pretreatment, implementation of Fourier Transform Infrared monitoring as well as copper ion exchange in wastewater, and certification for zero waste to landfill.
