Samsung Electronics hosts “Environmental Safety Innovation Day 2019” event

The “Environmental Safety Innovation Day 2019” event took place at the Device Solutions Research (DSR) building in Samsung Electronics’ Hwaseong Complex on March 29. This event was attended by representatives from Samsung Electronics, Samsung Electronics parts affiliates such as Samsung SDI and Samsung Electro-Mechanics, and Samsung Biologics. This gathering of 100+ executives and directors was administered by Samsung Electronics’ DS Division, and brought together the representative directors, division chiefs, manufacturing center chiefs, overseas production facility directors, and environmental safety officers of each participating entity. Participants attended an expert lecture on “implementing an innovative and safe workplace”, gave presentations on the best environmental safety practices, viewed environmental safety exhibits, and shared know-how. Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman and CEO Kim Kinam reminded participants that “Environmental safety culture is no longer a matter of costs and expenses, but an area where we need to invest aggressively to improve competitiveness and productivity,” urging all attending to help “create the world’s best and safest workplaces, pioneering a future where mankind, technology, the environment, and development coexist and co-prosper.” “Environmental Safety Innovation Day 2019” was the first event of its kind organized by Samsung Electronics’ parts affiliates. Affiliates will take turns hosting this annual event, continually improving Samsung Electronics’ environmental safety competencies.
