Mobile AP

  • mail
Mobile AP (Mobile Application Processor) A system semiconductor that is installed on smartphones, tablet PCs, and similar electronic devices, acting as the brain that interprets commands, calculates, controls the system, and more. Conventionally, a PC is composed of the central processing unit (CPU), memory, graphic card, hard disk, and chip sets that control the connections between these accessories. On the other hand, a mobile AP can both function like a CPU and perform all chipset functions like controlling other accessories. Therefore, it can operate the necessary OS and applications, and controls various devices/interfaces with one chip. It is basically a system on chip (SoC). A mobile AP’s main functions include running the operation system, web browsing, multi-touch screen operations, and any other key functions in a smart device (CPU functions), and processing graphic and video data to present it on the screen (GPU functions). Aside from this, in a mobile AP, there are many server processors that run the video recorder, camera, mobile games, and other systems.
