Luminous Flux A unit for measuring light. Unit: lm (Lumen) Luminous flux refers to the total amount of visible light emitted from a light source. 1lm is the luminous flux emitted from a unit solid angle from a light source that has a uniform luminous intensity of 1 candela (cd). In other words, as the solid angle of the center of the entire surface is 4π, the total luminous flux emitted from a point light source of 1cd is 4πlm. ※ Light source for lighting – As we look at the surface where the light is incident, the brightness, the amount, and the quality of light are important. – Key characteristics to consider: Luminous flux (lm), luminance efficiency (lm/w), color rendering index (CRI)
