Conductor A material through which electricity or heat flows well. Examples include gold (Au), silver (Ag), copper (Cu), and aluminum (Al). This is a material that has a fluid charge flow due to the many free-roaming free electrons from the interactions between atoms that occur without external energy, unlike an insulator. Free electrons are electrons that do not attach to any atom. In the diagram of a conductor below, you can see the valence band and the conduction band overlapped. This allows for electrons in the valence band to flow easily to the conduction band, becoming free electrons that allow for an easier flow of electricity. ※ Energy bands of an insulator, semiconductor, and conductor
