CES 2021 will be hosted online for the first time in its history until the 14th. Some Samsung Electronics and Semiconductor products were proudly showcased at the online exhibition at CES 2021. And they are the winners of the CES 2021 Innovation Awards from last month. Next-generation smart SSD with a processing feature that can efficiently process a large volume of data ‘SmartSSD™ 4TB’

The first product is Samsung Electronics SmartSSD CSD (Computational Storage Drive). It enables transmission of large data in real-time between the CPU, GPU, RAM, and SSD, important components in the data center. This is due to a processing feature that was added to the previous SSD. It minimizes the amount of data passing and offers accelerated data processing. SmartSSD CSD with PCIe Gen3 SSD and FPGA technology provides optimized performance within the available power of the standard U.2 form factor. It will be utilized as the next-generation emerging applications in areas like Big Data processing. Combining DRAM and NAND Flash advanced technology, multi-package “uMCP” for mobile devices

The second award-winning product is the uMCP from Samsung Electronics. This multi-package product is the first in the industry to combine the 10 nano 12GB LPDDR5 DRAM with the 6th generation VNAND-based 256GB UFS (3.1), and is a mobile memory with the highest premium performance and power efficiency in the industry. Samsung Electronics’ uMCP achieves high-resolution displays such as 4K and 6K in mobile devices with the unrivaled DRAM and NAND Flash technology. It also allows for powerful multitasking. The uMCP was awarded the Innovation Awards in two sectors, which are embedded technology and computer hardware & parts. LM283N+, LED solution for indoor lights that help adjust melatonin

The last award-winning product is the LM283N+. The LM283N+ is an innovative indoor light LED solution that creates light that is similar to natural light to improve the melatonin level of the users. There are two products; DAY and NITE that can be used according to the time of the day. LM283N+ DAY helps the users focus, while LM283N+ NITE helps improve the sleep quality of the users. Human-centric light, or healthy light that reflects the diverse and modern lifestyles, is expected to improve comfort and productivity at various places. Hopefully, LM283N+ can be commercialized soon to be used as a bedside lamp or a desk lamp.
