Color Rendering Index

  • mail
Color Rendering Index One of the properties of a light source. Expressed in CRI units. Color rendering index represents the color reproduction linearity of a lit object. It is a numerical representation of how similar the color of an object seen in natural light (sunlight) is to the color of the same object seen in specific lighting. It is notated as a percentage (%) compared to the reference light source (incandescent light bulb), and the closer the CRI is to 100, the better the color rendering is. The color rendering of sunlight is 100%. For a light source, if its wavelength is distributed uniformly, similar to sunlight, the color rendering is considered to be excellent.
