‘Infotainment’ is a term that combines ‘information’ and ‘entertainment.’ In-Vehicle Infotainment is a service wherein equipment installed in a vehicle provides information on the vehicle status and navigation, as well as on the entertainment elements for a user. For example, a vehicle installed with IVI could help you find your way to your destination, find information on the most popular eateries in the area around you, and make reservations through satellite navigation. Any number of IT-based services are possible. Requirements for IVI semiconductor chips include fast processing speed, high graphics performance, and high reliability to ensure driver safety. Exynos processors supplied by Samsung Electronics will power the next-generation infotainment systems for the German car maker, Audi.
