Mobile DRAM

  • mail
Mobile DRAM A memory semiconductor used for operating mobile devices. Mobile DRAM is just like DRAM (Dynamic RAM) in a computer, but customized for mobile devices. The main data storage device, the DRAM, is a volatile memory cell that erases the data once the power is turned off. It is much faster in reading and writing data than an auxiliary memory unit. Like a computer is composed of a central processing unit (CPU), the auxiliary memory units (HDD/SSD), and a main data storage (DRAM), portable digital devices also have parts that are specialized for mobile devices. Those are the mobile AP (central processing unit), eMMC (auxiliary memory unit), and LPDDR (main data storage). Mobile DRAM exchanges data with the mobile AP, which acts as the CPU. It provides space to process data faster. DRAM is classified into DDR 1, 2, and 3 depending on its data reading and writing speed. When the number increases by one, the data processing speed doubles. LPDDR (Low Power Double Data Rate) DRAM is high-performance and low-power DRAM that is suitable for mobile digital devices where mobility is a key feature.
