DDI (Display Driver IC) The IC chip that operates displays like TFT LCD (thin film transistor-liquid crystal display), PDP (plasma display panel), and other similar devices. In one pixel of a display, there are sub-pixels that display the three primary colors, red, green, and blue (RGB). Every sub-pixel has a transistor, and DDI is what controls this transistor. DDI has an on-and-off function, a gate IC to control the sub-pixel (RGB) gates, and a source IC to control the sub-pixel (RGB) signals to create different shades of colors. DDI can be divided into Panel DDI and Mobile DDI based on their size and purpose.
