BLU (Back Light Unit)

BLU (Back Light Unit) A component used as a light source for liquid crystal displays (LCD) that cannot emit light on their own. BLUs play the role of evenly illuminating the display’s image on the back of the LCD so that it can be seen. Types of BLUs include CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) BLU and LED (Light Emitting Diode) BLU. LED BLU consumes less power than CCFL BLU, so they conserve energy. Also, since they don’t use mercury, they don’t generate carbon dioxide, making them a more eco-friendly option. Depending on the method, BLUs are largely divided into the edge type and the direct type. The edge type is mostly used for mobile phones and laptops, while the direct type method is used for larger displays such as TVs.
