At Samsung Austin Semiconductor, we are committed to not only growing our business in Central Texas but also ensuring the communities we call home thrive along with us.

In 2024, through our philanthropic initiatives, we supported more than 60 community organizations in Central Texas with nearly $3 million in support.

By partnering with organizations that align with our priorities, we are helping improve access to food, provide academic support, increase environmental stewardship and more.

“Our mission is to make a meaningful difference to the Central Texas community by thoughtfully investing our people and resources,” director of Communications and Community Affairs at Samsung Austin Semiconductor Michele Glaze, said.

In our commitment to being a good corporate citizen, we recently hosted two “Friend-Chip” events to recognize and celebrate our community partners in Travis and Williamson Counties.

“Your organizations are providing life-changing services to help our community grow and thrive. We want to celebrate the great work that each of you are doing and express our most humble of appreciation,” Samsung Austin Semiconductor corporate executive vice president Jeffrey Go, said at the Austin Friend-Chip event.

“We are proud that we have become a global premier employer who is creating jobs, providing a great place to work, is committed to environmental stewardship and is focused on being a good corporate citizen,” Jon Taylor, corporate vice president at Samsung Austin Semiconductor, said.

At the Taylor Friend-Chip event, Taylor Mayor Dwayne Ariola spoke about the impact Samsung Austin Semiconductor has had on the region.

“When we were negotiating [with Samsung] a few years ago, we put the community high on the list as far of working with our nonprofits and they promised to do so. Today is more proof that they’re putting their actions to work,” Ariola said.

Our Giving Impact

Girl Scouts of Central Texas
One of our favorite events that we sponsor every year is the Samsung STEM Challenge hosted by the Girl Scouts of Central Texas. In the past decade, our partnership with the nonprofit has empowered nearly 2,000 young girls to tackle engineering challenges.

Manor ISD
With the Austin campus in Manor Independent School District, we are committed to empowering their scholars through the district along with Manor Schoolhouse Foundation and Manor Whole Child.

During the holiday season, we adopt 40 families and at the start of the school year we help provide supplies for back to school. Our employees also give their time mentoring students and participating in career fairs at various campuses.

Central Texas Food Bank
Due to inflation, a trip to the grocery store can be costly for many families.

By partnering with the Central Texas Food Bank, the organization distributed 60 million pounds of food in 2023 and helped 300,000 clients every month.

Every year, dozens of our employees volunteer hundreds of hours at the food bank to help sort and pack food for the community.

Boys & Girls Club of East Williamson County
In just five years, the Boys and Girls Club of East Williamson County has had such a huge impact in the Taylor area and we are happy to partner with them to provide children a safe place to learn and grow.

With our partnership, they’ve been able to invest in technology programming and a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) station in their Teen Center. In 2023, they increased memberships by 15 percent and served 356 youths.

Taylor ISD
We’re very proud of our commitment to Taylor ISD. Beyond just grants, we are working to ensure students have every opportunity to enrich their education with paid internships.

Last fall, we donated $1 million to the district to build the new career and technical education building at Taylor High School. Our partnerships with the district and the Taylor Educational Enrichment Foundation are helping grow the STEM pipeline.
