Samsung Semiconductor has participated in the international game trade show, G-STAR 2022, which was held in BEXCO, Busan, South Korea from November 17 to 21. Reopening offline after three years, the exhibition is gaining the attention of many visitors. In contrast to the previous year when COVID-19 caused limited participation, a total of 987 companies from 43 countries participated with 2,947 booths, guaranteeing plenty of entertainment for visitors.
Samsung Semiconductor Global has set up the largest exhibition booth at G-STAR to date, a whopping 357㎡ in size. Products are displayed under the slogan “Goodbye Loading!” and various programs and events have been prepared for gamers to enjoy.
Latest SSDs optimized for gaming all in one place.
In this year’s exhibition, Samsung Semiconductor showcased various high-performance SSD lineups of the 990 PRO, 990 PRO with Heatsink, and T7 Shield, SSD products optimized for the gaming environment. The 990 PRO and 990 PRO with Heatsink are high-performance SSDs optimized for large-size graphics used mainly in games. They boast speedy loading times on gaming consoles and computers, allowing gamers to experience their games with high-resolution graphics and vibrant images. The T7 Shield is a highly-durable portable SSD that can process large volumes of data, including high-resolution video recording and editing, stably and without slowing performance. At the Samsung Semiconductor booth at G-STAR, an SSD gallery has been set up for visitors to experience these new SSD products for themselves and check out their features.
Interactive content, from product training to gameplay
Samsung Semiconductor has also prepared various fun-filled sections like the Game Play Zone, Entertainment Zone, and Class & Event Zone for visitors to enjoy.
In the Game Play Zone, gamers can test Samsung Semiconductor’s SSDs from product installation to gameplay. Visitors were able to try out games like SEGA’s Sonic Frontier, released on October 8, and Square Enix’s Forspoken, which will be released early next year. What’s more, visitors were able to fully enjoy the unique features of the latest gaming-optimized SSDs, the 990 PRO and 990 PRO with Heatsink, on gaming PCs.
There were also tons of giveaways of prizes in the Entertainment Zone. “Goodbye Loading” is a game in which players smash loading blocks that block the flow of the data with a hammer, shaped like the 990 PRO and 990 PRO with Heatsink, while “Load More Games” is a game in which players put the game balls in a basket shaped like the T7 Shield. With these games, players were able to directly experience the speed of the latest SSDs.
What’s more, a stamp rally event were also held for visitors at the exhibition. Visitors were given a stamp every time they tested a product in the Brand Hall. By collecting these stamps, they were able to participate in the capsule drawing game and have the opportunity to win prizes. In addition, visitors who participate in the interactive programs and events were presented with limited edition G-STAR merchandise and other prizes prepared by Samsung Semiconductor.
In the Class & Event Zone, a professional engineer held an SSD class on how to install the 990 PRO, an IT influencer was speaking about their experience with the 990 PRO, and an SSD developer was giving explanations on gaming and products. To add to this, a quiz show was also held to add variety to the exhibition.
In the Galaxy Store Zone, visitors could browse through a game IP collaboration exhibit, displaying games available on the Galaxy Store such as Cookie Run: Kingdom and Pokemon GO. Visitors could also experience vivid and immersive graphic displays on The Wall, a 146-inch modular TV with Micro LED.
Visitors who took part in the interactive content at the booths shared how they felt about the exhibition. They commented that, “It was a great time– we were able to enjoy Samsung Semiconductor’s SSD technology through various games, exhibits, events, and lectures.” One visitor who had a chance to install an SSD in the Class & Event Zone shared that, “It was a great chance to learn how to replace an SSD without any special tools or technology. I’m looking forward to a faster and livelier gaming experience with the 990 PRO series”. Another visitor who played the PC games and PlayStation games available in the Game Play Zone expressed satisfaction, explaining that “With how fast the games were loading, I was able to truly enjoy the action and speed to the fullest, and the realistic graphics made the games really pop”.
Ahreum Co from the Global Marketing Communications Team of Samsung Semiconductor was in charge of this year’s exhibition. Regarding the goals of planning this event, she remarked that, “In line with the gaming environment that’s becoming more diverse with mobile, console devices, and PCs, we prepared programs in which users could experience optimized storage for gameplay. Many people still think of the memory products for storage purposes only, but Samsung Semiconductor’s products also excel in gaming environments. For those users who has experienced game maps not loading at once or at a slower speed than other gamers, I’d recommend experiencing the fast and smooth gaming environment that Samsung Semiconductor's storage products can provide.”
Experience the lineup of high-performance SSDs optimized for gaming and enjoy a variety of hands-on contents, lectures, and events at Samsung Semiconductor’s booth at G-STAR 2022! Come and join the exhibition and experience the industry's No. 1 SSD technology.
