The Samsung Display America Lab (SDAL) develops new technologies for Samsung Display Company’s next-generation displays. The lab’s scope includes high-speed data transfer, image compression, panel driving and pixel compensation, visual quality enhancement, and intelligent algorithm development for product quality control. The lab’s mission is to drive multi-disciplinary innovation for industry leadership and superior display products.

SDAL was established in 2012 and is located in Silicon Valley. Most of the team is made up of researchers who have earned PhDs or are industry fellows. Key areas of lab expertise include display architecture, integrated circuit design, compression algorithms, machine learning, and vision science.
